In lieu of our bar shows in March, spend a weekend with The Dandies at Toronto Comicon.* (March 17-19, 2017 is St. Patrick’s Day weekend so plan accordingly)

February 10, 2017 – S5E2: Heart of Glory Hole Donuts
The script for Star Trek TNG’s “Heart of Glory“ (s1E20) was the first of many Worf storylines. Worf was one of the more interesting TNG crew members because the character was allowed to develop — to grow and challenge the cultural traditions (and assumptions) of both of his homeworlds. He was good at what he did but had inner turmoil over his identity. He used his self doubt as a tool to better himself rather than weigh him down. The only place he did not find victory was in having a more cheery disposition.
The struggle for (self-)acceptance is well known to The Dandies, but Holodeck Follies uses humour as our tool to explore and play with Otherness. The USS Hummingbird crew is filled with diversity, anxiety, and I’danian spice pudding! Join us on our continuing mission and also stop in to celebrate Black History Month, Groundhog Day, Tu B’Shevat, Family Day, Valentine’s Day, Carnival, and birthdays!

Each Star Trek inspired episode is created spontaneously on-the-spot, with quick-witted show references, puns, and songs. It is not canon of course, but after four years, audiences love watching the original characters weave their own tapestry. Audience input and interaction is encouraged but not mandatory to enjoy the show.
“Holodeck Follies is one of the funniest shows in Toronto!” – Space Channel
Holodeck Follies audiences are a fair representation of the Star Trek fandom. Deeply-devoted Star Trek fans (of a specific era or franchise) sit comfortably next to those who have only watched the occasional episode or movie and others who just want to laugh for the evening. It is a crowd with infinite diversity.
The Social Capital Theatre is such a great place to go to feel tremendous support from a huge variety of your fellow improvisers in the community. It’s unpretentious, collaborative and so positively uplifting. My advice: go there more.
The Dandies have accomplished a lot this year but that doesn’t stop us from boldly going toward new challenges!
In the meantime, we are launching a Patreon page. This will allow us to fund ambitious goals (likely boldly going to more North American conventions) while creating a membership card without additional administration.
For example, in addition to our adoration, Patreon members will get discount tickets to our Holodeck Follies shows! The tickets are transferrable so you can gift them to friends.
Consider pledging to us and then join us at our December 7 show for some exciting entertainment and announcements.
