Five Last Minute Geeky Halloween Costumes for Women

By Andie Wells

Halloween is by far my favourite time of the year. I usually start preparing for it well ahead of time, but I always have some Geeky Halloween costumes in my head to put together last minute. I thought I would share them with you!

Last Minute Geeky Halloween Costumes for Women

1. Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service

Kiki is one of my favourite Miyazaki characters and she is super easy to create. You just need a black dress and a big red bow. You could also grab a stuffed black cat and a broom but most people will know it right away with a black dress and big red bow and, if they don’t, no treats for them!

2. Deanna Troi from Star Trek: The Next Generation

Deanna is an easier character to cosplay than most on TNG as she was often not in the standard uniform. A long dress from the thrift store with some type of interesting design or a body hugging jumpsuit plus a communicator badge is all you need. Don’t forget to curl your hair as early 90s perm as you can get.

3. Dana Scully from the X-Files

Dana Scully is one of my top favourite all-time characters and now that I have red hair, I want to cosplay as her 24/7. No alien encounters for me though please! All you need for Dana Scully is a suit of some kind and a fake FBI badge which you can simply print off. Make it a couple costume with a Fox Mulder or an alien. Whatever you like.

4. Jessica Jones

This is one of the easiest last minute geeky Halloween costumes. Grab a tank top or shirt, jeans, a hoodie and a leather or pleather jacket, some black fingerless gloves, and a scarf. Don’t forget to perfect your look of angst and disappointment in the world. If you really want to push this up a notch, carry around a camera with a big lens on it.

5. Alice from Resident Evil

Alice is a pretty good character to try for last minute. You need a long red dress with a side slit (you can even just rip a thrift store dress since Alice rips the dress in the movie), some black bike shorts, and black combat boots. If you want to kick this up a notch or two, grab a nerf gun (do be careful with it though!) and dress your friends up as zombies!
