This weekend’s Black and Funny show, produced by Coko Galore at Bad Dog Theatre, was packed to overflowing with an audience enthusiastic for black comedic excellence.
When Jamillah Ross and I stepped onto stage to represent The Dandies with a quick Star Trek set, the audience burst into cheers. Jamillah coined the phrase “Intergalactic Black History Month” to uproarious applause and laughter. It was an exhilarating night that I hope gets repeated soon!
Afterward on the subway, I happened to be in proximity to some audience members talking up the show and groups involved. When it came to Holodeck Follies, they talked about our monthly show format and larger crew complement. Recognize!
Our next our spontaneously created Star Trek episode is this Saturday, February 10. Come laugh at our opening acts, Brendan D’Souza and Fusion Comedy and the adventures of the crew of the USS Hummingbird.
Consider Holodeck Follies an Intergalactic Black History and Valentine’s gift to yourself and you’ll agree: KHAN’T GET ENOUGH OF YOUR LOVE, BABY.
