Hisham Kelati hosts a night of Star Trek stand-up, improv, and trivia to celebrate the 50th anniversary. This show is the mirror universe of Holodeck Follies, where we are the guest act!

We’ll be there. Will you? (Will Riker also acceptable)

The Dandies return to Starbase Social Capital Theatre on August 3rd for an evening of Star Trek comedy.

The host for the evening is the charming, Trek-loving Hisham Kelati (stand-up comedian – Views from the Trek, Joke Marmalade).

We’ll start with Star Trek: Assignment Mirth — a short game set where fresh-faced cadets seek a coveted place on the USS Albatross. Competition is fierce…and mandatory.

Our August non-Trekkie variety act is stand-up comedian Rush Zilla!

rush zillaRush Zilla started training at Second City and Toronto’s Impatient Improv Theatre in 2011. Since then, she has graced the stages of some of the best comedy clubs across Canada including Absolute Comedy, Yuk Yuks, The Corner Comedy Club, Comedy Bar, to name a few.

This year, Rush was showcased on several nights in the SheDot Festival.

Her biweekly open mic in Toronto has reached it’s 100th show this month, and she produces an all-female monthly called Femme Com in the summer months at Kensington Market. She has previously won “best female comic” in 2013 for “I Ain’t No Joke” Battle of the Sexes Edition.

Her web series, “A Band Called Dubstep” will be premiering this summer. She plans on taking over the world.

The evening concludes with a spontaneous Star Trek episode from The Dandies and friends.
