The Sampler Game Show Returns June 13th
“The Sampler is a great time and a great show!” – Marc Hallworth, comedian, Vest of Friends
The Sampler is a fast-paced, audience curated, competitive comedy show between stand-ups, sketch, and improv troupes — where performers have a limited time to win over the audience. Feed your competitive spirit while getting morsels of local comedy!
Your vote on each competitor will determine which set makes it from amuse-bouche, to appetizer, to full course meal. Cheer loudly so they can get their just desserts — the headline spot at a future Sampler show!
Competing Acts:
- Sketches from TwoSon (Devon Henderson and Jackie Twomey; The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival)
- Stand-up by Rob Norman (Mantown Comedy, Sunnyside, author of Improvising Now, The Backline podcast)
- Stand-up from Camille Côté (Camody Show )
- Stand-up by Charles Hollyer – Newcomer!
- Improvisation from Fonzie Scheme (Trevor Burns, Sean Fitch, Cecilia Tiburzio; Tinder Surprise)
“You get to see performers on the edge of their seats!” – Holly Wyder, comedian Acoustic Comedy
Comedian Korri Birch (Good News, Toronto) returns as master of ceremonies. Korri is a great friend of The Dandies, having performed stand-up sets at Holodeck Follies and ensemble improvising with the Tough Love format.
The evening closes with a set from our feature act, sketch comedians L’il RasGals (Chelsea Larkin and Susannah Kiernan; The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival). They return to The Sampler as champions of the competition in January 2016.
“This show is fast and furious and SUPER FUN!” – Susannah Kiernan, comedian, L’il RasGals
