May 6th (S3E5): USS Mayday
“Strategic Operatic Simulator”
Guyson’s Log, stardate May 6, 2015.
This month Captain Field was AWOL, and Lieutenant Commander Jennifer Kumquat took the helm as acting Captain. An outbreak of Tribbles distracted the crew and the Vurzglorz escaped. A hole was put into the hull, and while Tribble-based breathing apparatus saved Guy Guyson and medical ensign Lo Raren (Tracy Rowland) for a time, things looked bleak…
- But then Stevie Jay cheered us all up with hilarious stand up about being a potential serial killer living in his parent’s basement! So really, our lives couldn’t be that bad, right?
- Daniel E. K. Priest sang us some songs – he’s got a great voice, I can see why his imaginary girlfriend Koleeklo loves him. I certainly did for the 0.135 minutes I was his muse.
- Marcel St. Pierre gave us a one-man-show rundown of a party on the Enterprise. Ask him about his amazing Scottish accent! My wet dreams will never be the same.
In the final set, Ensign Priest joined the crew through the hole in the hull, and for saving lives was immediately made the new Captain by the ensigns! Jennifer didn’t like this, but after a sing-off accompanied by the inestimable Andrew Loay on keyboard and judged by Stevie Jay as Admiral Zach (yes relation), it was determined that the irrepressible Space Circus human cannonball would be the new Captain.
And then Jennifer snapped her fingers.
