Season 2, Episode 8: Tutu Beam Up
The Dandies and Friends packed The Social Capital Theatre again on Wednesday. The crew of the USS Albatross sang a few songs through the night, we found out that the old Earth children’s clapping game “pattycake” is actually based on Jennifer Kumquat, that slapping a rhino is a good way to get the planet’s Queen enraged, and that firing straight up in celebration can be bad for your ship. The night ended with the crew (and two audience members) building a human pyramid — it was amazing!
Our guest variety acts charmed our savvy audience!
- Our first guest, stand-up Korri Birch, shared some new jokes but each landed. I especially liked the dig at JJ Abrams as an amateur photographer!
- Heather & Brie, working as a duo outfit for the first time, brought some political and nerdy sketches. The audience equally loved the highly charged “Gaza Strips” and “Dad Porn” sketches
- Our feature performer, kitarist Kraken Not Stirred had the audience clapping and singing along
It was a great episode, and you missed it… but we will make more!
Also, we gave away door prizes: from Neverwares and Sweet Gluten Freedom (two of our Promenade vendors), and a pair of passes to Rainbow Cinemas Market Square. What did people have to do to win? Get our Facebook event pre-register count to 40 people, and then show up at the event.
Our next Holodeck Follies is September 10th, 2014. Don’t miss it!
